SERVPRO of Southwest Portland received an early morning call regarding a water loss with apparent mold at a local apartment complex in the downtown Portland area. The owner of the complex called telling us that one of the units has mold in the living room and the bedroom the owner believes that the mold came from an outside water intrusion and the source was unknown.
Within 15 minutes of the call ending, we sent out our crew of well-trained professionals to the scene. After the initial walk-through with the owner, it was apparent that there were more than 10 square feet of mold. Our crew then began to come up with a drying plan, the drying plan is to set containment in both the bedroom and the living room. We then needed to remove the carpet and perform a flood cut to the drywall in the bedroom and the living room. Lastly, we needed to mold scrub and HEPA vacuum the entire containment in both rooms, and place drying equipment in those affected areas.
During the first day on the job, our crew came to the conclusion that they were going to need to bring in specialty drying equipment so we proceeded to bring in three air movers. SERVPRO of Southwest Portland was able to restore the room to preloss condition in only 3 days.
