A huge fire loss, turned into a huge fire and water loss

SERVPRO received a call regarding a local assisted living center that experienced a fire loss in one of the resident’s kitchens.  As promised, SERVPRO arrived on site within an hour of the call ended with a truck full of equipment ready to restore the kitchen to its preloss condition.

Upon arrival one of the workers alerted us that the sprinklers in the building went off and was able to put out the initial flames until the fire crews and were able to cover the rest. By the time the fire was put out five floors in the living center were affected by the water from the sprinklers. SERVPRO was called out to handle the huge fire loss but it became apparent that this job was a dual job, it was both a fire and water damage job.

With that in mind, it didn’t bother us at all SERVPRO has trained professionals for all kinds of losses. We placed our equipment throughout elevators, hallways, residents’ rooms, and also the dining area. Once the equipment read that the floor, walls, drywall, and carpets were dry our crew began to go through the salvageable items from the fire and to start clearing out the soot from the room.
