Small leak turned into monumental problem

SERVPRO of Portland started off the week with a monumental water loss to a local home. The customer informed us that they woke up and noticed that there was a leak coming from the refrigerator and their hardwood floor was buckling. In addition, the customer informed us that a lot of their contents were damaged due to water loss. When your hardwood floor buckles it will begin to rise causing humps and uneven surfaces throughout the hardwood floor.
As promised our crew of trained professionals was out on the site within the hour of ending the call with the customer. During the initial inspection, our crew knew right away demolition was going to be needed. Before getting started on restoring the customer’s home the crew needed to carefully pack up all affected contents in order to begin work.
Also during the initial inspection, our crew came up with a drying plan. The first part of the plan was to set containment around the home and remove the insulation in the crawl space. Once that took place, 6 air movers, were placed throughout the home and in the crawl space. This job put our crew to the test both mentally and physically our crew was able to complete the job in only four days.
