Massive water loss comes from a minuscule problem

Flood cut in laundry room

Shortly after closing for the day, SERVPRO of Southwest Portland received a call regarding a huge water loss. The customer informed us that their downstairs finished basement flooded from the mainline drainage. In addition, the customer also informed us that there were multiple rooms affected due to the water loss.

Like always our crew here at SERVPRO of Southwest Portland shortly after ending the call loaded up and headed to the job within the hour. During the initial inspection, the crew noticed that the floor is porcelain tile with a laundry room, bath, and living room the customer did all they could to dry the home upon our arrival.

Our amazing crew here at SERVPRO of Southwest Portland came to the conclusion that demolition was going to be needed in order to help the drying process. They removed the affected drywall located in the laundry room and the utility room while performing a flood cut in both of the rooms. Once demolition was done our crew brought in the equipment that included two small dehumidifiers.
