A second-floor problem turned into a whole house problem

SERVPRO of Southwest Portland received a call after hours regarding a water loss at a home. Within the same hour in which were called SERVPRO of Southwest Portland was all hands on deck sending out a crew of professionals to deal with this water loss as soon as possible.
The water loss occurred in a single-family home that was built in 1905. The water loss began on the second level and unfortunately the water leaked through the floor onto the first level and from there into the basement. After inspecting the job SERVPRO of Southwest Portland’s crew put their heads together to come up with a drying plan.
The first step that needed to be taken was to follow all safety standards the importance of the safety of our crew and the family was our top priority. The crew then needed to detach sinks and cabinets in the upstairs bathrooms in addition to capping all of the hot and cold water stops. The crew proceeded to remove vinyl tile, underlay, float carpet, and pad they then went into the basement and placed two air movers blowing up to the subfloor along with one dehumidifier.
