Fire caused by Grilling

Summer is the peak season for grill fires and since outdoor grilling is one of the most popular ways to cook food, here are some simple tips to be on your way to safe grilling.

1) Propane and charcoal BBQ grills should only be used outdoors.

2) The grill should be placed well away from the home, deck railings and out from under eaves and overhanging branches.

3) Keep your grill clean by removing grease or fat buildup from the grills and in trays below the grill.

4) Never leave your grill unattended.

5) Always make sure your gas grill lid is open before lighting it

6) When you are finished grilling on a charcoal grill, let the coals completely cool before disposing in a metal container.

7) Always keep a Dry Chemical Fire Extinguisher handy.
